Tony Award-winning actress Idina Menzel will light up the stage of Fort Lauderdale's Parker Playhouse this Friday, July 25. Menzel, who first gained fame for her roles in "Rent" the musical and movie, and more recently as Elphaba, the Wicked Witch of the West, in "Wicked," won't be wearing green this time.

The talented musician will be performing songs from her new CD, "I Stand." Produced by veteran pop producer Glen Ballard, the songs, all written by Menzel, pay homage to her Broadway roots while venturing into the pop and Latin realms.

Menzel performs at the Parker Playhouse, 707 NE  8th St. in Fort Lauderdale, Friday, July 25 at 8 p.m. Tickets are $44 and are available at www.parkerplayhouse.org.
