As Broward County gears up for its second of two annual gay pride events, many of your favorite nightclubs are featuring special events. This Pre-Pride Weekend might seem a little ludicrous, but hey, many of us don’t even need an excuse to party. There’s a delightful spread of events for you to choose from this weekend:
Friday, June 15
Back by popular demand, Boom is bringing you an ’80s Remix Rewind, featuring hits of the ’70s and ’80s with DJ Richie Rich at 2232 Wilton Dr. in Wilton Manors. And (semi-eerily) in honor of Father’s Day, Ramrod is bringing a special edition of Fetish Fridays with its fetish this week being bare-chested daddies and their boys. Those adhering to the fetish will receive drink specials all night at Ramrod at 1508 NE 4th Ave. in Fort Lauderdale. Local favorite bar Georgie’s
Alibi will celebrate its selling with the Passing of the Keys Ceremony at 8 p.m. at 2266 Wilon Dr. in Wilton Manors.
Saturday, June 16
Because they know you do, Score brings you “I Love Dance Music” with DJ Wendy Hunt and her hits of the ’80s, ’90s and ’00s at 727 Lincoln Rd. in Miami Beach. Up in Broward, Gary Santis brings you the “Power of Pride” with Tony Moran and local favorite Jennifer C. at the Coliseum at 2520 S. Miami Rd. in Fort Lauderdale.
Sunday, June 17
If you’re down in Miami-Dade, check out the grand opening of Click at Dek 23 at 655 Washington Ave. in Miami Beach. This new night comes to you thanks to the folks at RKM and features DJs Kidd Madonny and Bill Kelly in the main room. If you’re up in Broward, check out VooDoo Lounge’s Father’s Day T at 111 SW 2nd Ave. in Fort Lauderdale. If you bring your dad (or lie and say your boyfriend is your dad), you’ll get a drink of choice.
Monday, June 18
If you’re feeling like a frat boy, maybe you should check out hip-=hop beer pong at Lush at 3074 NE 33rd Ave. in Fort Lauderdale. The event is hosted by DJ Rae Rae and will surely get out of hand.
Wednesday, June 20
Celebrate the release of Rihanna’s latest, “Good Girl Gone Bad,” with the folks at Georgie’s Alibi at 11 p.m. at 2266 Wilton Dr. in Wilton Manors.
